Lew Lipset Auction Next Auctions March 12 – April 5, 2011 – Preview Begins March 5th

The next Lew Lipset Auction will be online March 5, 2012 and bidding will start March 12th. The catalog will be available on line. Highlights include a Complete Run of 562 Baseball Magazine, and 1887 St. Louis Browns Opening Day silk, an 1890 Players League Cabinet of the Chicago team, 1953 Dixie Lid sheets of baseball and non sports and a Koestler Bread uncut sheet; Incredible group of rare autographs from Ron Gordon collection with 39 lots including authenticated autographs of Cobb, Huggins, McGraw, Anson, Bender, Campanella, Clemente, Johnson, Klem, Lajoie, Tinker, Wagner, Cumberland Posey, Walt Kiesling and more. Other items include:Incredible collection (s) of rare postcards including at last 15 never seen before including a Winthrop Mathewson, 1913 Mohawk Giants, never seen before postcards of Huggins, Walter Johnson (3), Kahn postcard with Addie Joss with his handwriting, Wanamaker Baker and others.

Many sets including a 1915 Cracker Jack near set broken down into 14 lots, a near T206 set broken down into 17 lots, 1933 and 1934 Goudeys, a rare “Whiz Bang” set, 3 Japanese sets, 1940 and 1941 (2) Playball sets, a V94 Canadian Butterfinger nr set and almost all the Topps and Bowman baseball sets; Dozens of Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays cards, graded and ungraded.

Football including many Topps and Bowman sets, some basketball and hockey and golf including the rarest Golf card in the world (only copy known) and 29 other golf lots.
