Horrors of War Packs Bring World Record $56,869 at Lelands.com

Horrors of War unopened cello packs marketed in a boxed “Gift Set” for the Christmas season brought an astonishing $56,869.12 at the December 21, 2012 Lelands.com Auction. This “virgin set” was discovered in the New England area where the cards were originally made. It is believed the gift sets are so rare because they were only marketed locally.

The auction grossed over $2.7 million. It brought astonishing world record prices including a 1950 Jackie Robinson game worn Jersey for a records price of over a $400,000. Bobby Orr’s 1968-69 Boston Bruins jersey brought $137,274, a 1933 Goudey Nap Lajoie Baseball Card PSA9 $103,136.58, and Don Newcombe’s 1956 National League MVP Award $166,102.
