Check Out F+W Pubs Booth At SportsFest This Weekend
SportsFest 2008 kicks off its three-day run in the Chicago suburb of Schaumburg this Friday, and show officials are confident the event will be a success in spite of today’s challenging show environment. The Chicago Bears Expo is also being held this weekend at Soldier Field, but SportsFest officials have designed a way for fans to experience the best of both worlds by offering a reciprocal program in which people who attend the Expo can present their ticket stubs at SportsFest and buy one admission and receive the second ticket free of charge.

Mastro Auctions - Win, Place and Show
Experts in sports memorabilia know the value of name recognition, too. That’s what boosts the price of collectibles linked to marquee horses and sentimental favorites. Along with Triple Crown collectibles, the Kentucky Derby is an obvious top seller, says Brian Marren, vice president of acquisitions at Mastro Auctions. He adds, “Most of the general public can get their arms around that stuff.” Mastro, a Burr Ridge, Ill., company that specializes in sports and Americana collectibles, has sold a number of horse racing’s high-priced keepsakes, mainly to private collectors and a few museums.
