Heritage Sports Auction Features Babe Ruth Cap Other Newly Discovered Treasures
Dallas, TX – A baseball cap worn by Babe Ruth during a 1920’s barnstorming tour will be one of the highlights when Heritage Auction Galleries’ Sports Collectibles division presents a stunning array of vintage sports memorabilia and trading cards in their upcoming October 17th and 18th, 2008 Signature Auction to be held in Dallas, Texas. ‘Not only is this our largest auction to date,’ said Chris Ivy, Director of Heritage Auction Galleries’ Sports Collectibles division (HSC), ‘I’d also have to characterize it as our most intriguing. We’ve located quite a few artifacts and trading cards never before encountered in the hobby that should surprise even the most experienced collectors.’

Game Used Universe Fall 2008 Auction: It’s All Good!
Game Used Universe (GUU), the popular website used by sports memorabilia collectors throughout the hobby to help them make informed decisions about the items they purchase, has launched its third major auction. Regardless of your collecting interests, the auction offers quality memorabilia for just about every type of collector. The auction is now open and runs through October 23rd. Football collectors will be amazed by the number of quality game used items with solid provenance. As for current players, the auction features items coming directly from teams like the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears, as well as other items that came directly from players.

T205 Cy Young Tops Six Figures In Auction!
The value of some old baseball cards isn’t showing signs of stress despite the tough economy. A T206 Cy Young, graded PSA 8.5, topped the bidding in Mile High Card Company’s Fall Internet auction. The card generated 22 bids and sold for $105, 242 which includes the buyer’s premium. PSA’s recently-implemented half-point grading scale change clearly had an impact on the selling price of the card. Early Babe Ruth baseball cards usually draw a crowd of interested bidders and they flocked to a 1916 M101-5 Sporting News Ruth card graded PSA 7. it sold for $89,104. In all, over 1500 lots of sports cards and memorabilia were sold, but the focus was again heavy on the vintage cards side.
