More Treasures from the Philadelphia Private Golf Museum at Heritage Auctions

For the second time in as many Heritage Sports Collectibles Signature® Auctions, golf collectors will be treated to a wide assortment of equipment and awards from two centuries of the sport’s history. The material represents the labor of love of the consignor, Dr. Barry Glaser, who has spent the past two decades assembling the most significant private collection of golf memorabilia known.

Among the more noteworthy pieces are the golf ball used by iconic early Open Championship winner

“Once again, Dr. Glaser has supplied a Heritage auction with a virtual treasure trove of Championship awards,” said Chris Ivy, Director of Sports Auctions at Heritage, “with victor’s medals from Walter Hagen, Jess Sweetser, Jerry Travers, Henry Cotton, Bobby Locke and more.”

The evolution of the sport’s equipment is recounted by an intriguing assortment of rare, early golf balls and clubs, with examples of each dating back as far as 1830.

Heritage Auctions, headed by Steve Ivy, Jim Halperin and Greg Rohan, is the world’s third largest auction house, with annual sales more than $600 million, and 500,000+ online bidder members.
