The 1949 Leaf Football Set: An Enigmatic Vintage Set(0) (From Sports Market Report) - The 1949 Leaf football set, while not as popular as its predecessor (1948 Leaf), retains much of the appeal in terms of design and difficulty. The set contains 49 cards, versus 98 in the 1948 Leaf set. In addition, while the set does not contain the plethora of rookies found in the 1948 issue, the 1949 set does contain a fair amount of Hall of Famers, including Sammy Baugh and Bobby Layne.
