Goldin announces its August Monthly Sports Auction featuring a remarkable assortment of memorabilia from legendary American Olympic diver and gold medalist Greg Louganis. The collection was carefully curated and includes two of Louganis’ signature Speedo styles including this 1988 red, white and blue USA team speedo and 1984 Los Angeles Olympics speedo worn by the four-time Olympian.
The auction also includes a signed screenplay draft for his autobiography, titled “Breaking the Surface,” chronicling his back-to-back double gold medals at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games while wrestling with self-doubt and lack of confidence as he concealed his sexual orientation as a gay athlete.
Some of the marquee items in the collection from sports cards and Olympics-worn speedos to memorabilia include:
1984 Greg Louganis Los Angeles Olympics-Worn Team USA Speedo (Louganis LOA)
Greg Louganis Worn Olympic Games Jackets (2 Different) From 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and 1992 Albertville Olympics (Louganis LOA)
