Estimated at $5,000-$6,000, the fully signed Beatles book exceeded its high estimate by nearly 30% and easily captured the top spot among the results. The piece combined one of Lennon’s best-known literary works with the signatures of the complete Beatles lineup.
Another Beatles-related item took second place. An unused ticket from the group’s 1966 Shea Stadium concert, presented in a display and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from legendary promoter Sid Bernstein, sold for $2,000, reaching the high end of its $1,500-$2,000 estimate.
One of the auction’s biggest performances against estimate came from Syd Barrett and Mick Rock’s signed limited-edition Psychedelic Renegades deluxe book. Numbered 53 of 950 and estimated at only $125-$150, the book soared to $1,600, more than 10 times its high estimate.

Beatles Memorabilia Takes Center Stage
The Beatles accounted for the auction’s top two prices and another of its notable results.
In addition to the $7,750 fully signed In His Own Write and the $2,000 Shea Stadium ticket, a George Harrison signed limited-edition Songs by George Harrison deluxe book set sold for $925.
The three Beatles-related lots listed here combined for $10,675, representing more than half of the $17,885 generated by the 12 featured results.
Syd Barrett Book Soars Past Estimate
The standout result based on presale expectations was the Syd Barrett and Mick Rock Psychedelic Renegades book.
Estimated at just $125-$150, its $1,600 selling price was approximately 10.7 times the $150 high estimate. The limited edition volume focuses on Barrett, the founding Pink Floyd member whose brief career and lasting influence have made original and signed material associated with him particularly appealing to rock memorabilia collectors.
Another major rock figure, David Bowie, was represented by a signed limited edition Sound + Vision four-CD deluxe box set that sold for $1,100.
Eddie Vedder Lyrics Bring $775
An Eddie Vedder handwritten working lyrics manuscript associated with Pearl Jam songwriting sold for $775, exceeding its $500-$600 estimate.
Other notable signed books included Eric Clapton’s Six String Stories deluxe artist’s edition at $750 and photographer Michael Cooper’s Blinds & Shutters, featuring autographs connected with Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Bill Wyman, at $825.
A guitar carrying more than 90 signatures from country music figures, including Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn and Merle Haggard, realized $600. A multi-signed autograph album featuring Sun Ra along with blues, jazz and gospel performers brought $550.
The varied results demonstrated the breadth of the music memorabilia market, but it was the Beatles who commanded the auction’s highest prices, led by the $7,750 fully signed In His Own Write.
