FULL AUCTION DESCRIPTION
2013 has once again been a very strong year for our company and we want to thank our many loyal consignors and bidders for making this possible. We are currently seeking high quality consignments and buying items outright for our major auction in January 2014 – please do not hesitate to call or email us with any items that you might have.

The current auction is our unique affordable autograph and memorabilia auction (with some cards). Almost all items have a retail value of $500 or less, and the minimum bids are very low. This auction is one of the very best of its kind that we have offered, including a very substantial vintage program collection, several memorabilia collections and a tremendous selection of baseball autographed flats, bats and baseballs. Autographed cards come first – there are many better group lots going back to 1939, a good run of signed 1957 Topps cards with several key HOFers, many 1960 and 1961 Fleers and partial signed sets of 1978 Topps and 1982 Fleer among others.

Collectors of vintage 3x5s, GPCs and cuts should have a field day here. We have autographs from Roberto Clemente, Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Foxx, Chick Gandil, Don Hoak, Bobby Lowe, Herb Pennock and some great group lots and small collections. Signed 8x10s photos are a very deep category as always in these auctions, with note to many great vintage multi-signed photos, two unique Joe DiMaggios – one inscribed to Phil Rizzuto, the other inscribed Flying through the air…Joe DiMaggio. There is a Mantle/DiMaggio signed 8×10 and several fun Billy Martins, paired with Reggie Jackson and umpire Ken Kaiser among others.  Autograph album pages include an extensive collection from the 1940s, and has desirable autographs including Jim Bottomley, Roy Campanella, Eddie Collins, Rogers Hornsby, Harry Heilmann, Rabbit Maranville, Satchel Paige, Herb Pennock and Al Simmons. We have many interesting signed letters, some with excellent content. There are many fine signed la rge prints, including several 1962 and 1986 Mets, a Koufax UDA and three different Ted Williams. Signed bats conclude baseball autographs on day one; highlights include 1969 and 1986 Mets, 300 Wins, 500 Home Run Club, McGwire, Puckett and more.

We finish day one with 120 lots of baseball cards. These include some clean Mantle singles from the 1960s and an extensive array of complete sets, including 1960 Fleer, 1964 Giant, 1964 Auravision, 1964 Moringa Japanese Set with Sadahara Oh, 1966 Topps Rub Off, 1969 Bazooka, 1970 Fleer World Series, 1971 Topps and a run from 1974 – 2009 Topps.

Day two begins with the other major sports. Highlights for basketball collectors include a fine large Chamberlain/Russell signed print, several Bill Russell signed items, including a superb GPC from 1956, and a collection of many GPCs from 1950 signed by college players. Boxing collectors will see seven different signed Ali items, including a superb letter from 1971 and some interesting memorabilia, including more Ali items.

Football is extremely well represented here. We have part two (of two) of the great Baltimore Colts program collection we offered in our early August auction. In addition, there is a fine Jets/Titans early program collection, most of the early Super Bowl programs, many better tickets, including a 1968 Jets AFL Championship and a Super Bowl V and programs from Vince Lombardi’s first two games on the sidelines for the Green Bay Packers in 1959, one preseason (with a ticket!) and the first regular season game. We have some interesting original artwork for Topps football cards from the 1980s and 1990s (and hockey as well). Football autographs include a good run of vintage signed cards offered as singles, many signed footballs, a lot of 10 USFL signed contracts, another good circa 1950 GPC lot with great College Football content and much more.

Collectors of baseball memorabilia should really like this auction. We have desirable black bats from the 1977 Yankees and 1983 Orioles, a 1976 centennial bat and game used bats from many star players. We have a solid selection of tickets, including some full tickets, from 1940 – 1985. We also have some of the best vintage photos that we have ever offered, including a 1921 Dummy Taylor, a 1923 Christy Mathewson and more. Baseball publications are also a particularly strong category. There is a terrific run of yearbooks going back to 1941, with most of the widely collected early Dodger and Yankee pubs, but collectors of other teams will see a 1950 Phillies, 1954 Braves, 1954 Giants and much more. We have several scarce 19th and very early 20th century pieces, including the rare 1888 Mike King Kelly book.

Signed baseballs conclude the auction. There are almost 200 different lots of single signed baseballs and an amazing  115 different team ball lots. Single signed ball highlights include Max Baer, Wally Berger, Curt Flood and Riggs Stephenson. HOF collectors will see the usual run, including two DiMaggios, four Mantles,  Bill Terry and Ted Williams. For fans of current players, we have Cabrera, Jeter, Piazza and Rivera. Team balls ably conclude the auction. We have a 1932 Boston Braves, a possible 1934 Tour of Japan ball with Jimmie Foxx, a 1939 NL All Star Reunion ball, a 1942 Cubs with a bold Kiki Cuyler, 1944/5 Pirates with Frankie Frisch, 1951 Dodgers with a real Campy and Hodges, many very fine team balls from the 1950s and 1960s, many rare minor league team balls, including a 1943 Montreal Royals, several Rochester Red Wings balls, 1969 Columbus Jets with Don Hoak and a 1970 Tidewater Tides with Danny Frisella. The 1980s and 1990s are very well represented, including a superb 1982 Orioles, 1985 Cardinals and Royals, 1986 Mets, 1998, 2001 and 2007 Yankees, a 2006 Japan All Star Game tour ball and more.
