SportsCardLink’s inaugural featured auction of sports cards and sports memorabilia, opens today January 14, 2011 and continues through January 27, 2011. Graded sports card lots date from the late 19th Century through 1980 and memorabilia is centered around vintage items with an assortment of more expensive modern items for good measure. Memorabilia within the auction ranges from Mickey Mantle’s 1951 rookie cleats to vintage photos and pins to signed balls to game used bats. SCL Consignment Director, Chris Porter stated, “the inaugural SportsCardLink auction offers a tremendous variety of material for collectors at all levels. We’re extremely proud to make available sports cards of some of the game’s biggest names, such as Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Ty Cobb and Joe DiMaggio, as well as a spectacular variety of personal, one-of-a-kind memorabilia pieces that have come straight from the collections of the players that accumulated them.
