The auction offers an amazing 451 different lots of pre-war baseball cards! This section begins with a trio of 19th century cards and continues with a W600 Johnny Kling, several slabbed 1907 Dietsche Tigers postcards, a pair of 1908 era Cubs postcards and two 1907 Grignon Cubs postcards.
Pre-war continues with a 1907 H.M. Taylor Tigers Hughie Jennings, a 1907 Novelty Cutlery Dooin and a run of slabbed E90-1 American Caramels with many HOFers. The auction has an amazingly detailed vintage Chicago Cubs collection from a long-time and wonderful hobbyist spread throughout the auction, but especially from before 1940.
We have some tougher 1910 era E cards, T3 Turkey Reds in collector grade, a pair of T5 Pinkerton Postcards, a run of T202 Triple Folders, 1913 Tom Barkers, 1914 T213 Type 2s, T222 Fatimas and a big selection of graded 1921 Exhibit cards with many HOFers.
Pre-war baseball continues with many 1920s cards, including four 1921 Holsum Bread. 1930s collectors will see four 1933 DeLongs, a run of collector grade 1933 Goudeys with many HOFers, 1934-6 Diamond Stars, 1934 Goudeys with lower grade key cards, clean 1935 R310s and 1936 R311s and some tougher Salutation Exhibit cards.
Post-war baseball includes many collector grade examples of key cards. In particular, there is a 1951 Bowman Mays RC SGC 1, 1953 Topps Mantle PSA 1, Paige PSA 3.5 and Mays PSA 3. Other key cards include 1954 Topps Aaron RC PSA 1.5, 1954 Bowman Ted Williams VG, a pair of 1955 Bowman Mantles, 1955 Topps Clemente and Koufax PSA 3 Rookies, 1956 Topps Mantle PSA 1.5 (white back), 1957 Topps Brooks Robinson RC SGC 5.5, 1959 Topps Gibson RC SGC 4, 1960 Topps Mantle SGC 5 and a 1967 Topps Seaver RC PSA 5.
