Auction Highlights:
We open the auction with some interesting 19th century baseball cards, these include a Tobin Lithograph King Kelly, a skinned 1888 Lorillard Detroit Tigers team, N29 Morrell and a pair of collector grade Mayo Cut Plus. The auction continues with a run of collector grade T206 singles with many HOFers and three PSA graded T210 Old Mills.
There are some clean mid-grade T201 Double Folders with a Walter Johnson SGC 4, several lower grade T3 Turkey Reds and several mid-grade T202 Triple Folders. We have offerings of graded 1921 Exhibits and 1928 Tharp’s Ice Cream and a really nice run of graded 1933 Goudey HOFers. Super hot cards of late, the highlights here include a 119 Rogers Hornsby PSA 4, 158 Moe Berg PSA 3 and a 220 Lefty Grove PSA 4.
There is also a similar offering of quality Diamond Star HOFers, including a Greenberg PSA 2.5, Foxx PSA 3 and Hornsby PSA 3. We have six of the very scarce 1935 Schutter-Johnson cards as singles, two affordable R cards of Honus Wagner and 1939 and 1941 Play Balls, including Ted Williams.
Post-war collectors will see 1948 Bowmans with Berra and Musial PSA 2s, 1948 Leafs with a Kiner RC PSA 4, 1949 Bowmans with a Campanella PSA 1.5 and 1951 Berk Ross cards with a Musial PSA 3. Other highlights include a 1949 Sportstamp Complete Set, a pair of 1951 Connie Mack All Stars, a 1951 Bowman partial set and a 1952 Berk Ross Jackie Robinson.
The rest of the 1950s Topps and Bowman issues include a fine selection of collector grade superstars and Rookie Cards, from a 1956 Mantle PSA 3 to a 1954 Topps Banks RC SGC 1.5, a 1955 Topps Koufax RC SGC 4, 1955 Bowman Mantle PSA 3 etc. We have collector grade near sets of 1956 through 1958 Topps, an offering of 1960s partial sets with some oddball issues and other clean cards.
We have a small but strong offering from the other major sports. The highlights here include 1961-2 Fleer cards of Baylor, Chamberlain and West, N28 Jack Dempsey, T9 Jack Johnson and five clean mid-grade National Chicle football cards.
