Clean Sweep Auctions Major Auction Ends June 7, 2023

The current auction and sale catalog is the largest that we have ever produced. The auction may very well be the deepest and finest auction in our history. Anchored by an incredible single-owner collection of vintage complete baseball, football, hockey and non-sports sets dating back to the 1930s, this was a true joy to put together. Please note that we will be making two changes going forward as to how we run auctions for various reasons. First, phone bidding will end at 9 PM EST on all auction nights going forward. Second, if an auction goes as late as 1:45 AM EST, we reserve the right to end the auction at any time with ten minutes of notification.

Auction Categories

The key lots in the auction include a superb signed Willie Mays Rookie Card, signed 1953 Topps and Bowman Mickey Mantles, a terrific autographed 1916 Boston Red Sox starting pitchers display with Babe Ruth and a 1988 L.A. Dodger World Series ring.

Other highlights include a T206 Ty Cobb bat off shoulder with a Tolstoi back, T206 Demmitt St. Louis, five 1933 Goudey Babe Ruths, two 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrigs, a PSA 5 1935 Goudey set, 1939 Play Ball Ted Williams, three 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle Rookie Cards, three 1951 Bowman Willie Mays Rookie Cards, superb 1952 Berk Ross cards of Mantle and Mays (PSA 8, 7), 1952 Star Cal Decal Mantle, a pair of 1952 Topps Willie Mays cards, 1953 Bowman Color Mantle PSA 7, three nice 1953 Topps Mantles and a pair of 1953 Topps Willie Mays cards with a PSA 7.

We continue with a beautiful PSA-graded 1957 Topps set, 1960 Post Cereal Mantle PSA 2, 1948 Bowman George Mikan RC PSA 3, a graded 1970-1 Topps basketball set with 143 PSA 8s and conclude with a 2003 Topps Chrome LeBron James PSA 10.

Vintage card collectors will see a wide variety of scarce pre-World War two cards and key HOFers; we also offer many high grade single cards from the 1950s through the 1970s. We will also have a terrific selection of quality baseball card sets and some key modern cards.

Baseball autograph collectors will see some terrific signed cards, including several Mantles, a signed Hank Aaron RC and a superb 1966 East Hills Pirates signed set with Clemente. Other notable autographs include several items signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, a PSA 10 Jackie Robinson cut and several terrific signed photos, programs and baseballs.

Collectors of historical autographs will see a pair of fine JFK signed items. Entertainment autographs feature a super fresh to market Ramones signed 8×10. Non-sports cards include many terrific sets going back to the 1930s, with many unusual pieces that we have not seen until now and a fresh run of 1977 Star Wars first series cards from a vending box.

Basketball collectors will see classic Rookie Cards, several sets and many just great Michael Jordan UDA items, including a basketball, large format book and several terrific signed large prints.

Football collectors will see complete sets dating back to the 1940s, many fine singles up through the current day, quality unopened boxes, a pair of superb signed sets and more. Hockey collectors will see complete sets dating back to the early 1950s, and some neat signed pieces.

Baseball memorabilia concludes the auction. We have fine World Series Programs from the 1920s and 1930s, many desirable tickets also dating back to the 1920s, a Shoeless Joe Jackson full size decal bat and much more.
