Goldin Auctions, the leading marketplace for collectibles and trading cards, announces a strategic partnership with MINT Co., Ltd (a.k.a MINT), the largest sports cards and card games chain shops in Japan.
Through the new partnership, MINT will sell millions of dollars of cards per year through Goldin Auctions, enabling collectors in Japan to more effectively buy and sell high-value cards in the international market. Each of the cards MINT sells through Goldin Auctions will be authenticated and graded by PSA. Collectors in Japan will be able to submit their cards to MINT to be sold through Goldin Auctions beginning in June.
Goldin Auctions CEO Ross Hoffman said: “Interest in trading cards and collectibles is booming around the world and MINT is a leader in the Japanese market. But it can also often be a challenge for hobbyists in Japan to reach an international market when selling their cards. We’re solving that problem for them and creating an entirely new way to ensure that Japanese consignors can get the very best prices for their cards.”
MINT Co., Ltd COO, Tatsuo Shinke said: “Recently, the trading card industry is gaining more worldwide attention due to various factors and their value is rapidly increasing. In Japan, the media has begun to show the cards were sold for millions of yen and hundreds of millions of yen in auctions in the United States. It sounds like a story of another world happening across the ocean, but I have seen similar cardholders who have valuable cards in Japan as well. The partnership with Goldin Auctions, experts in the collectible card industry that has records of hundreds of million US dollars in the United States, would allow customers to easily list their collectible cards to the global market through MINT. While attracting the attention of collectors around the world, we monitor the situation of the card auction going on with the customer. I am looking forward to seeing customers winning the bid of the amount that I never imagined. ”
