Goodwin & Company “Masterpieces and Uncommon Commons XXXVI” is now in progress and ends on November 10, 2011. As the baseball season closes with an amazing come back by our St. Louis Cardinals, here’s hoping that your summer was as enjoyable as ours. Masterpieces and Uncommon Commons XXXVI is the second of three consecutive auctions which contain offerings from a tremendous collection of cards all of which originated from New Orleans at the turn of the century. Highlighting “The Louisiana Purchase” cards is a tremendous group of Kotton Cigarette cards with no less than sixteen Hall of Famers. We would also like to mention a never before seen Yum Yum Tobacco card of Hall of Famer, Sam Thompson. This uncatalogued find is graded 5.5 excellent plus. A blank back Babe Ruth rookie card is presented as well as a gorgeous Obak Cabinet of a youthful Buck Weaver. Perhaps, the finest example in the hobby. T206 collectors will not be disappointed with the hard to find and downright rare cigarette backs such as the Ty Cobb card with the Sovereign 460 back. A hand selected 1957 Topps set, with all cards grading PSA 8 or better, is being made available after decades of dedicated searching and upgrading.
Our auction closes Thursday, November 10th, the day before Veterans Day. I would like to take a moment to welcome home all of our veterans who have served this great country of ours.
In closing, thanks for your interest and good luck!
