Grey Flannel Auctions would like to take this opportunity to personally thank some people who have helped in putting together this great auction. It contains more lots and perhaps the finest material that we have had in any one auction in a number of years. This is a testament to all of our consignors, who have all made fantastic contributions despite a timeline that is a month earlier than normally scheduled. In response to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s decision to move up their induction weekend by a month to August, we changed our May Auction to April. Our next auction will be our annual live auction, held on August 13, 2010 during the Basketball Hall of Fame’s weeklong induction festivities.
Grey Flannel Auctions would like to thank my dear friends at Steiner, Steve Costello and Sean Mahoney, for all of their help. You will find Steiner items and consignments interspersed throughout the entire book. In addition, we are proud to have another JO Sports section in this catalog. Special thanks are also due to our licensors The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the Major League Baseball Alumni Marketing, and all the NFL Alumni.
Last but certainly not least, we would also like to welcome aboard two authenticators that we have not officially mentioned before. Denny Eskin, the most respected game-used glove man in the country and our very good friend Robert Harvell, whose expertise on game-used helmets is unparalleled. We are extremely grateful for the assistance of these two consummate experts. By the time this book is printed we will have started our new website and Robert will be commenting on it to express his positive views on this great hobby of ours.
Grey Flannel Auctions staff has worked incredibly hard, long hours and countless weekends to produce this state of the art catalog. I cannot thank you all enough for your loyalty and dedication to Grey Flannel. For over two decades now, Grey Flannel has been incorporated and we have been running major auctions since 1999. This auction contains lots with more team, player, and family letters of authenticity than any auction in the history of the hobby. As has been our mission since day one, we will continue to strive to give you the best available products that the sports world has to offer.
