Bulls Back in Spotlight — Jordan Memorabilia Never Left Behind an amazing 62-20 regular season record, and a staggering MVP season by young superstar Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls were catapulted into the 2011 NBA postseason. Currently, the “Windy City” squad is giving LeBron James and his Miami Heat teammates all they can handle in the Eastern Conference Finals, and are poised to make a return to the NBA Finals for the first time since the Phil Jackson era.
With the Bulls once again making a strong appearance in the spotlight of the sports world, we felt it made perfect sense to revisit some past results featuring memorabilia from the most famous Chicago celebrity them all, Michael Jordan. Thankfully, for serious roundball collectors, and “Air Jordan” enthusiasts, Heritage Auctions continues to bring to light some of the most significant pieces of Michael Jordan memorabilia ever to hit the auction block. While remaining conscious of game-worn provenance when offering jerseys of “His Airness,” and pristine condition, when showcasing his most prized basketball cards, high-caliber Jordan pieces have been, and always will remain in the hobby spotlight.
Below is an array of some of the most intriguing Jordan pieces Heritage has brought forth to the collecting community.
1987-88 Michael Jordan Game Worn Uniform – Sold for $17,925 (May 2005).
2002-03 Michael Jordan Game Worn Washington Wizards Jersey – Sold for $10,755 (May 2008).
1985-86 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Vintage Signed Sneakers – Sold for $8,365 (October 2007).
1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 SGC 98 Gem Mint 10 – Sold for $7,170 (May 2008).
