The privately-owned collection of legendary jazz guitarist and songwriter George Benson – including his rare, 1980 D’Aquisto Sunburst Excel Archtop Electric Guitar, estimated to sell for $60,000 – highlights more than 300 lots in Heritage Auctions’ Vintage Guitars and Musical Instruments auction May 25 in Dallas. The auction also features historical instruments from the private collection of jazz great Al Valenti.
“The Benson collection is world renowned for its quality and rarity,” said Michael Gutierrez, Consignment Director for Heritage Auctions. “Benson has his 10 Grammys and own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and he earned them by playing some of these iconic instruments.”
