The last time Jackie Robinson faced Vic Raschi it was in Game 5 of the 1949 World Series. Robinson and the Dodgers were down three games to one and Raschi’s brilliant pitching that day kept Robinson to a single hit as New York won the game and the World Series. The next time those men met it was in Philadelphia for the
1952 All-Star Game. Batting second in the bottom of the first inning, Robinson rode a Raschi fastball to deep left field for a solo home run. That run proved to be the difference in the 3-2 NL victory. It was also Robinson’s only home run in the Mid-Summer Classic! This remarkably rare and historic bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B07656), who have graded this bat a GU 9.
