A 1997-98 Michael Jordan Metal Universe Championship Precious Metal Gems PSA NM-MT 8, a remarkable Roberto Clemente 1960 Pirates World Championship year game-worn jersey (SGC Excellent), and a splendid Ted Williams 1942 Red Sox game-worn, photo-matched jersey from his first Triple Crown season headline the Lelands 2024 Winter Classic Auction, which runs through March 16.

The 1997-98 Metal Universe Championship Michael Jordan Precious Metal Gems headlines “The Golden Age Collection,” a hobby fresh offering of 100+ important inserts from the greatest era of modern sports card collecting. Spanning from the early 1990s to early 2000s, the collection is almost entirely graded by PSA and includes superstars like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, Babe Ruth and much more.

The Roberto Clemente Pirates1960 World Series-winning season game-worn jersey up for bid comes with full SGC authentication book. During that historic season, the baseball legend and humanitarian batted .314 with 94 RBI, leading the Pirates to their first championship in 35 years. An incredibly important piece, this gray vest-style button-front top received a grade of excellent from SGC, the second-highest grade attainable.

The Ted Williams 1942 Triple Crown Red Sox game-worn, photo-matched jersey offered here comes with MEARS and Resolution LOA. In one of the best individual seasons of all-time, Williams hit .356 with 36 home runs and 137 RBI to capture his first of two Triple Crowns. The only known Splendid Splinter jersey from 1942, this hobby fresh gem is sourced from the family who has been in possession of it since that historic Triple Crown season.

Additional auction centerpieces include the Kentucky Derby Winner’s Trophy presented to the owner of Strike the Gold in 1991 and a 1949 Bowman Baseball #50 Jackie Robinson signed card PSA Authentic Auto 9.

Among other auction highlights are a circa 1920s Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig dual-signed Yankees original photograph (PSA Type I – Auto 9), a Sidney Crosby 2005-06 rookie year Penguins game-worn jersey photo-matched to four games and career goals #25, #30 and #31 (Resolution Photomatching LOA), the rarest Hall of Fame football signature – a Charles Bidwill signed 1939 Chicago Cardinals Wrigley Field rental contract also signed by George Halas (PSA, JSA and Beckett), an extraordinary Babe Ruth and Honus Wagner signed baseball (PSA), and a 1927 Ownie Carroll Tigers game-worn uniform – one year style.

The auction also features Paul Drayton’s 1964 Summer Olympics gold medal for the 400 Meter Relay, a Willie Mays 1969-72 game-used bat (PSA GU 9.5), a 1986-87 Fleer Basketball #57 Michael Jordan Rookie BGS Gem Mint 9.5 (True Gem+), a Pete Rose 1976 Reds World Championship year signed game-worn jersey (Resolution photo-matched and MEARS A9), and a Lynn Swann Steelers game-worn jersey photo-matched to November 27, 1978, when he had a season-high 134 yards and two touchdowns (Steelers letter).

Also up for bid is a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle PSA VG 3, a Brian Leetch 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs Rangers signed, game-worn, photo-matched jersey (Resolution LOA and Leetch LOA), an 1860 Abraham Lincoln signed handwritten letter with envelope (PSA Gem Mint 10), a 2003-04 SP Basketball Signature Edition “INKredible INKscriptions” #LJ Lebron James autograph inscribed “#1 Draft Pick” rookie card #04/25 BGS Pristine 10 Auto 10 (Pop 3 Highest Graded), and Jack Morris’ 1993 Blue Jays World Series Championship Trophy (Morris letter).
