Love of the Games an internet-based sports auction house catering to the passionate collector of cards and memorabilia, closed its Spring 2022 auction with record results! The sale featured one of the company’s strongest selections of sports cards and memorabilia in its history, including hundreds of prewar Hall of Famers, original photography, vintage ticket stubs and display pieces. This auction brought a record number of bidders, a record number of bids placed and most dollars paid to consignors!
The auction was highlighted by a wonderful original painting of Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente by noted sports artist Graig Kreindler. “Proud as a Peacock” was created specifically for this auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to UnidosUS, the largest Latino civil rights organization in the country. The painting was created to commemorate Clemente as we approach the 50th anniversary of the tragic plane crash that took his life. The final sale price was of $59, 100 a record price for a Kreindler piece at auction!
