A near mint run of Mickey Mantle cards is joining some other rarities in Memory Lane’s final auction of 2008. One of the highest quality Mickey Mantle baseball card collections in existence will be broken up when the Bruce Griggs Collection hits the auction market next month. The Griggs collection features a perfect run of PSA 8 graded Mantle cards from his rookie year of 1951 Bowman to his two 1969 Topps variations–white and yellow letters. The group stands among the leaders on the PSA Set Registry’s Basic Mickey Mantle Collection rankings. The Mantle run is among hundreds of vintage sports cards and memorabilia that will be part of Memory Lane Inc.’s Winter Extravaganza Rarities auction, set to begin November 21.
