Memory Lane Inc Auctions Off World’s Most Expensive Rookie Card In April 4th Auction

Memory Lane Inc., based in Tustin, CA, the sports and non-sports auction company who recently made headlines all across the country for selling one of the oldest baseball cards in the hobby’s history from 1869 ($75,000) for Bernice Gallego of Fresno, CA, is currently auctioning off the most expensive Rookie Baseball Card of its stature, the 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth PSA 2 Rookie Card graded by card grading and autograph authentication giant, PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator). The name “Babe Ruth,” synonymous with most individuals in the entire United States was recently mentioned at “When seeking good quality items,” says JP Cohen of Memory Lane, Inc., “you should concentrate on true rarities, items that are truly one-of-a-kind and this Babe Ruth Rookie Card is truly one-of-a-kind.

Other top items in MLI’s auction include: a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card PSA 7.5 NM; Napoleon Lajoie PSA 6 EX-MT, one of the most sought after cards in the 1933 Goudey Set; a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth PSA 8 NM-MT; a 1967 Topps Tom Seaver Rookie Card in a PSA 10 GEM MINT; a Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig signed 1920’s baseball with clean signatures authenticated by PSA/DNA (The autograph authentication division of PSA); a Willie Mays Game Used Bat with a PSA Grade of a perfect 10. Also offered is a stunning news wire photo from 1915 of Babe Ruth in his rookie season with the Boston Red Sox. Along with a whole host of early turn of the century tobacco cards including E93’s, T201’s, T-202’s, T-205’s and T-206’s, Turkey Reds, Cracker Jacks, Delong’s and much, much more .

In addition to the offered sports rarities in MLI’s auction, the auction house also offers some rare Americana. A group of 20 out of 45 former presidents in Signed Cancelled Check form dating as far back as 1802. Included in this spectacular group are cancelled checks signed by Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, William Henry Harrison and even a newer nearly impossible rare check signed by former President Ronald Reagan.

In addition to these items are 3 checks adorning the signatures of the famous Beatles, one check written and dual signed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney (the only way you can obtain Paul McCartney on a check) and 2 single signed checks of George Harrison and Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr). Among the other amazing items is a card produced by the Upper Deck Card Company with cut signatures of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt, members of the great wall, “Mount Rushmore” and numbered 1/1. An unopened Munster’s Box from 1964, cut signatures of Babe Ruth, Napoleon Lajoie, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson, Roger Maris, signed checks of Cobb, group signed photos of Joe and Dom DiMaggio with Ted Williams, Mantle/Musial, Mantle/Hunter, Mantle/Dickey, Mantle/DiMaggio/Williams, Satchel Paige, Connie Mack, game used bats of Manny Ramirez, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa and Ken Griffey, single signed jerseys Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal Game Used 2001 9/11 NBA Jerseys, Government Postcards signed by Legendary Football Hall Of Fame Players Jim Thorpe graded MINT 9 and Bruce Smith graded GEM MINT 10, signed checks of Walt Disney, Orville Wright, J. Edgar Hoover and lastly, a hardcover book titled, “The Audacity Of Hope” signed by our current President of the United States, Barack Obama.
