Memory Lane Inc Auctions Off World’s Most Expensive Rookie Card In April 4th Auction

Memory Lane Inc., based in Tustin, CA, the sports and non-sports auction company who recently made headlines all across the country for selling one of the oldest baseball cards in the hobby’s history from 1869 ($75,000) for Bernice Gallego of Fresno, CA, is currently auctioning off the most expensive Rookie Baseball Card of its stature, the 1914 Baltimore News Babe Ruth PSA 2 Rookie Card graded by card grading and autograph authentication giant, PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator). The name “Babe Ruth,” synonymous with most individuals in the entire United States was recently mentioned at Forbes.com. “When seeking good quality items,” says JP Cohen of Memory Lane, Inc., “you should concentrate on true rarities, items that are truly one-of-a-kind and this Babe Ruth Rookie Card is truly one-of-a-kind.

Each year a new bar is set with these types of cards and they have proven to escalate in value over the years, why? Simple mathematics, all based on supply and demand.”

Other top items in MLI’s auction include: a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle Rookie Card PSA 7.5 NM; Napoleon Lajoie PSA 6 EX-MT, one of the most sought after cards in the 1933 Goudey Set; a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth PSA 8 NM-MT; a 1967 Topps Tom Seaver Rookie Card in a PSA 10 GEM MINT; a Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig signed 1920’s baseball with clean signatures authenticated by PSA/DNA (The autograph authentication division of PSA); a Willie Mays Game Used Bat with a PSA Grade of a perfect 10. Also offered is a stunning news wire photo from 1915 of Babe Ruth in his rookie season with the Boston Red Sox. Along with a whole host of early turn of the century tobacco cards including E93’s, T201’s, T-202’s, T-205’s and T-206’s, Turkey Reds, Cracker Jacks, Delong’s and much, much more .

In addition to the offered sports rarities in MLI’s auction, the auction house also offers some rare Americana.
