Mile High Card Company’s spring 2012 auction is open for bidding and will culminate on May 24th. The auction available for bidding and to register on the company’s web site at www.milehighcardco.com and has been received with a great deal of pre -auction interest. The 1630-plus lot auction features a bevy of impressive items and is buoyed by a terrific group of complete and nearly complete vintage sets from all four of the major sports. When questioned on the current auction, Mile High Card Company President and CEO Brian Drent exhaled that the sale was “a thorough presentation of a vintage offering that really offered something for everyone, with a great amount of fresh-to-the-hobby material being offered.”
Mile High Card Co. catalogs present much more like informative reference books than auction catalogs with well-written, informative descriptions detailing each of the offered lots. The current auction, just like the vast majority of MHCC’s auctions, is paced by an outstanding selection of high-grade singles, as well as an abundance of stunning high-grade complete sets as well as partial sets. As well, the sale includes a nice number of interesting pieces of memorabilia and a fine selection of game-used items.

Offered of more recent release is a marvelous presentation of a complete 1991 Topps Desert Shield set that has been completely graded by PSA and ranks as the #1 Current And All Time Finest offering sporting a ridiculous 9.88 GPA with an equally amazing 690/792 cards having been graded GEM MINT 10 by PSA. The other three major sports needn’t be overlooked in the current MHCC sale as each is supported by highlights of their own such as an electrifying 1957 Topps #119 Bart Starr that has been awarded the top grade at SGC by grading MINT 96(9) with the New Jersey based grading firm; additionally the sale offers a captivating 1969 Topps Football 24 count unopened rack box which is a recent find and should make waves amongst unopened enthusiasts.
Although Mile High Card Company is generally regarded as the industry leader when it comes to high-grade cardboard, memorabilia enthusiasts needn’t worry as this segment of the hobby is well represented in the current MHCC sale. Highlighting the memorabilia offerings is an impressive offering of Type I photographs of Joe Jackson, several of which are traced back to legendary photographer Louis Van Oeyen.
