Collectors and dealers are expressing appreciation for the new PSA/DNA tamper-evident stickers that were introduced on November 23, 2009. The new stickers offer improved security for PSA-DNA-certified items from autographs to game-used equipment to photographs. “I’ve heard from quite a few dealers and collectors who like the tamper-evident technology and the authentication-specific information printed on the sticker – as well as the modern, new look,” said Joe Orlando, President of PSA/DNA Authentication Services, a division of Collectors Universe, Inc. The new stickers utilize a hologram feature and will split into two distinctive pieces if someone tries to remove a sticker from a PSA-DNA-certified item or Letter of Authenticity.
In addition, specially-worded stickers indicate what type of authentication service was provided, such as a game-used bat, an autograph that was signed-in-the-presence of a PSA/DNA representative, original photos, RookieGraph autographs, and so on.
“With this system you’ll know exactly what that sticker certified, what it was issued for,” said Orlando. “This means an even a higher level of confidence for buyers and sellers of PSA/DNA-certified items.”
