Professional Sports Authenticator (www.PSAcard.com) is ready to wow the masses at next month’s 2018 National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, which takes place from Wednesday evening, August 1, through Sunday, August 5, at the International Exposition (I-X) Center located at 1 I-X Drive. PSA will be awarding a trio of outstanding sweepstakes prizes during three days of the show (Thursday, August 2, Friday, August 3, and Saturday, August 4) that will consist of, respectively: a 1949 Bowman #27 Bob Feller card, PSA Near Mint-Mint 8, valued at $500; a PSA-authenticated LeBron James signed basketball from Upper Deck Authenticated, valued at $2,000; and a pristinely centered 1958 Topps #62 Jim Brown rookie card, graded PSA Near Mint 7, valued at $4,000. Sweepstakes entries can be made in person at the PSA booth or online at https://www.PSAcard.com/National starting July 6, 2018. Winners will be announced each day of the sweepstakes at 4 p.m. EDT.
As always, the PSA booth (#169) will be providing on-site authentication, grading and encapsulation for all items except for tickets and packs. To receive access to PSA’s special “Express Line” at the show, be sure to use the online submission center to place orders prior to visiting the booth. Those who take advantage of online submissions will also have access to limited, exclusive giveaways of PSA hats and PSA card mats on a first-come, first-served basis. PSA/DNA will also be offering authentication for items signed at the show for a discounted rate of $10. To interact with collectors and sports fans alike, PSA is once again providing show goers with the opportunity to take home free, custom encapsulated trading cards in special PSA-labeled holders. This time around, they will be photographed wearing either a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey with a basketball in hand or sporting a Cleveland Indians jersey holding a bat.
“Last year’s custom encapsulated card option was such a big success in Chicago that we are excited to bring the experience to collectors and sports fans in Cleveland too,” said PSA Vice President Steve Sloan. “What better way to preserve your memory of being at the show than with a custom trading card from PSA?”
PSA is pleased to announce the release of the book entitled “An All-Star’s Cardboard Memories,” with vivid recollections shared in print by former Boston Red Sox All-Star Rico Petrocelli. Petrocelli and the book’s editors, Tom and Ellen Zappala, will be present at the show to sign copies of the book, which will be given free of charge to anyone who purchases a Gold or Platinum PSA Collectors Club membership.
In addition, visitors to the PSA booth can score free PSA merchandise simply by “checking in” on social media. Collectors are encouraged to follow @PSAcard on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for promotional details. Be sure to ask a PSA representative at the trading card photo booth for giveaway details. Prizes include PSA caps, t-shirts, breaker mats and common PSA-graded cards. All giveaway items are limited in quantity, and available only while supplies last. Finally, PSA Customer Service will be accepting any take-home trading card and autograph authentication submissions for all levels of service.
