2020 Panini Prizm Black Finite Justin Jefferson Rookie 1/1 #398 PSA 9 Mint https://www.pwccmarketplace.com/premier-auction/10176
Justin Jefferson’s 1/1 2020 Panini Prizm Black Finite rookie parallel sold for $57,600 Thursday night in PWCC’s Premier Auction to become the star wide receiver’s highest-selling trading card to date.
It is now the most expensive NFL card sold this year for an active non-QB player and the highest-selling card among any active wide receiver.
This monster sale also vaults Justin Jefferson to the number two spot on the list of WRs with the most expensive cards. The only WR to have cards sell for more is Jerry Rice whose current record stands at $150,000. Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss round out the rest of the top four.
2020 Panini Prizm Black Finite Jordan Love ROOKIE AUTO DNA 10 1/1 #363 PSA 8
Jefferson’s record setter was not the only Black Finite parallel to make waves on Thursday. Earlier this summer, a father and son found Jordan Love’s autographed 1/1 Black Finite parallel in a Panini Prizm pack during the National Sports Card Convention in Chicago. The card sold for $28,000 on Thursday in its auction debut to become the highest-selling trading card to date for Green Bay’s new QB1.
2023 Panini Instant Premiere First Look Black C.J. Stroud RC AUTO 1/1 BGS 8.5
NFL cards continued to take the spotlight on Thursday when C.J. Stroud’s autographed 2023 Panini Instant Premiere First Look Black rookie issue sold for $6,750 to become the QB’s highest-selling card yet.
Stroud’s record setting card is the first licensed production to show the second overall pick of the ‘23 NFL draft in his rookie Texans uniform. The Black parallel of the card is the only copy in existence.
1990 Sports Illustrated for Kids Tony Hawk ROOKIE #152 PSA 10 GEM MINT
Tony Hawk’s 1990 Sports Illustrated for Kids rookie card sold for $15,000 Thursday night in PWCC’s Premier Auction to become the highest-selling skateboarding trading card to date.
Hawk’s rookie card hails from a special nine-card sheet included in the May 1990 issue of Sports Illustrated for Kids. To remove the cards from the magazine page, subscribers had to tear them out along the pre-perforated edges which unfortunately made it difficult to keep the cards in good condition.
PSA graded this card a Gem Mint 10, meaning it was removed perfectly from its sheet. It is one of only three examples to ever earn PSA’s top grade.
1997 Metal Universe Platinum Portraits Michael Jordan #1 PSA 10 GEM MINT
A PSA 10 example of Michael Jordan’s 1997 Skybox Metal Universe Platinum Portraits card sold for $90,000 in PWCC’s August Premier Auction to set a for-card record.
This Platinum Portraits issue originates from a 15-card set that features NBA stars in a Hall of Fame bust-like photo and was incredibly rare with a pull rate of one in every 4,320 packs.
This extremely condition sensitive card is one of only 17 graded examples to earn PSA’s top Gem Mint 10 designation.
