Highlights Include:
2009 National Treasures Platinum Stephen Curry ROOKIE PATCH AUTO 5/5 BGS 9 MINT
A headliner of this auction is the Century Platinum parallel of Steph Curry’s iconic National Treasures RPA card. The offering is highly desirable among Curry collectors as it is limited to only five copies, making it one of Curry’s scarcest issues ever released. Further, this will be just the fourth time a copy of this card has surfaced at public auction. This BGS 9 example features an impressive tri-color jersey patch and a somewhat challenging-to-find Auto 10 grade for Curry’s signature.
1993 Michael Jordan Eastern Conference Finals Game 4 Worn Photo-Matched Sneakers
Michael Jordan’s signed black Nike Air Jordan VIIIs — which he wore in game four of the 1993 Eastern Conference Finals — are on the auction block. Jordan dropped 54 points and recorded six rebounds and two steals while wearing these sneakers. His performance led Chicago to a pivotal 105-95 win against the Knicks to even the series 2-2. The win proved to be the spark Chicago needed to make it to the NBA Finals and become three-peat champions for the first time in franchise history.
These size 13 Jordan VIIIs feature the number “23” embroidered in white and red on the lace guards. Jordan’s signature is struck in silver marker on the outside of both sneakers. Letters of authenticity from PSA, Beckett, and SIA are included with the shoes, as well as an SIA photo match.
2014 Panini Prizm World Cup Gold Cristiano Ronaldo /10 #161 PSA 10 GEM MINT
Panini Prizm made its debut in the soccer world with this 2014 World Cup release. Some consider this the set that triggered the boom in modern soccer card collecting.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s Gold parallel, numbered to just 10, was a top pull from the offering and remains one of his best trading cards to date. This card features Ronaldo in his red Portugal jersey against a bright yellow background creating a striking contrast that makes this card iconic. PSA gave this example a Gem Mint 10 — one of only two in existence.
2003 Exquisite Collection Limited Logos LeBron James RC PATCH AUTO /75 PSA 10
This Exquisite Limited Logos LeBron RPA is notable for two reasons. First, it’s rarer than his base Exquisite RPA, which is numbered out of /99. Second, this copy features an impressive tri-color game-used jersey patch – an attribute not always common in RPAs. PSA graded this example a Gem Mint 10. Only two other copies are graded as high.
2017 Panini Contenders Cracked Ice Patrick Mahomes II ROOKIE AUTO /25 PSA 10
Numbered to just 25 and adorned with a shimmering silver and gold foil, this Cracked Ice Mahomes parallel from the Panini Contenders set is one of his most impressive offerings on the market. It’s on the auction block just in time for the young QB to make his third Super Bowl appearance in four years. This example is one of only two copies to ever earn a PSA Gem Mint 10.
2006 Exquisite Collection Michael Jordan & LeBron James PATCH AUTO /23 BGS 9
When this card was released nearly 16 years ago, LeBron James obviously hadn’t yet built the resume he has today — but it wasn’t hard to see he was on the path toward greatness. Still, the all-time scoring record? Did anyone see that coming? We’re currently just a few games away from the inevitable: a new all-time points record holder in LeBron James. In hindsight, it was unquestionably correct to pair James on this card with Michael Jordan. This beautifully holofoil-laden card features autographs in blue ink and game-used jersey patches from both Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Only 23 copies of this card exist and only three of those, including this copy, are graded to a BGS 9 – none are graded higher.
1957 Topps Basketball Bob Cousy Rookie #17 PSA 8 NM-MT (PWCC-E)
Topps designed and introduced its first ever basketball set in 1957. The set included Bill Russell, Nat “Sweetwater” Clifton, Tom Heinsohn, and, of course, Bob Cousy. Cousy’s rookie from Topps’ basketball debut remains one of the top vintage basketball offerings on the market. PSA graded this example a Near Mint 8. Only a small handful of copies have ever earned a higher grade. This copy also earned the PWCC-E (Exceptional—Top 15%) Eye Appeal designation.
1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle ROOKIE #253 PSA 7 NRMT (PWCC-E)
Although this 1951 set from Bowman’s was the gum company’s largest from the era, fewer than 100 examples of Mantle’s rookie have earned a higher grade than this PSA Near Mint 7 copy. In addition to receiving a hard-to-find Near Mint grade, this copy also earned a PWCC-E (Exceptional–Top 15%) Eye Appeal designation for its centering, color, surfaces, edges, and corners.
2018 National Treasures Luka Doncic ROOKIE PATCH AUTO /99 #127 BGS 9.5 GEM MINT
Most collectors would agree that this Doncic /99 RPA is one of the most important RPAs from the Panini basketball era. This copy features a tri-color Maverick’s jersey patch and Doncic’s autograph in blue ink. Beckett deemed this example a Gem Mint 9.5.
1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 PSA 5.5 EX+
It’s the card that deserves to be mentioned every time it appears at auction, yet needs little introduction: the Topps Mantle rookie. This copy of Mickey Mantle’s iconic 1952 Topps card earned a 5.5 from PSA.
