REA Spring Auction of Cards, Memorabilia and More – Ends April 21, 2024

REA’s blockbuster Spring Auction is now open for bidding! This auction features more than 3,700 lots from all areas of sport and non-sport, highlighted by incredible classic cards, exceptional game-used memorabilia, and remarkable fresh to the hobby collections that we’re excited to showcase! Bid view and register for the auction at robertedwardauctions.com.  The auction closes Sunday, April 21, 2024.

REA’s Spring Catalog Auction event is led by a new-to-the-hobby pair of signed Michael Jordan game-worn Nike Air Ship sneakers (Lot 4) worn during his historic 1984 rookie season. The sneakers were consigned by a former ball boy of the Detroit Pistons who acquired them, along with 21 other pairs that will be available in the auction, after working with numerous iconic players. In addition to the Jordan Air Ships, the auction will feature game-worn sneakers from Hall of Famers Isiah Thomas (Lot 3230), Robert Parish (Lot 3227), Dominique Wilkins (Lot 3229) and Sidney Moncrief (Lot 3228).

The Jordan Nike Air Ships are an incredibly unique piece of hobby history because he only wore them for a few games during the initial part of his rookie campaign before debuting his iconic Nike Air Jordan 1s on November 17. Both sneakers are signed on the outer ankle and interestingly enough, are two different sizes (the right is size 13 ½ while the left is 13), which is true to Jordan’s habits during his playing days. The sneakers are authenticated by MEARS and come with a Letter of Provenance from the consignor.

REA’s Spring Auction will also feature ten different baseballs with Babe Ruth’s signature, including a circa 1920 single-signed ball graded NM/MT+ 8.5 by PSA/DNA with a MINT 9 signature (Lot 18), a Babe Ruth signed and inscribed ball from his final Christmas in 1947 with a PSA/DNA GEM MINT 10 signature (Lot 2368), as well as a beautiful 1948 single-signed Ruth ball authenticated by JSA (Lot 2371).

Additionally, two of the hobby’s most iconic cards – the 1933 R319 Goudey #92 Lou Gehrig (Lot 5) and the 1951 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle rookie (Lot 7) – are featured with MINT 9 signatures. The former is the highest graded signed example known to exist while the Mantle rookie is a newly discovered example.

The auction features an array of high-grade vintage complete sets and rookie cards, many of which are the top available in the hobby. The event will run through Sunday, April 21, 2024 with all initial bids due by 9 PM ET.
