Like many collectors, Ron Futrell started his hobby as a young boy, gathering gum cards featuring his favorite ballplayers in a shoebox. His enduring love for baseball and passion for collecting would evolve into a life long pursuit of some of the finest cards and memorabilia in the world. One of the specific memorabilia categories that captivated Ron and became a cornerstone of his collection was Sports Advertising. Ron was drawn to the colorful imagery and creative concepts whereby athletes of bygone eras were featured to promote various products. Ron’s astute eye for quality, rarity and aesthetics led him to build one of the finest collections of vintage sports advertising pieces in the country. SCP Auctions is pleased to present the The Ron Futrell Collection of Vintage Sports Advertising as part of our November 13th, 2010 Internet Auction.
