Small Traditions, LLC invites you to visit our 6th Annual Summer Premium Auction, which is now open for bidding and will end on Saturday night 6/29 at 11pm PST sharp. As a reminder, we no longer use an Extended Bidding format, so please be advised that all lots will end precisely at the stated time.
With a number of consignments generated from several overseas locations such as Spain, Sweden, and Germany, the auction contains dozens of rare and high-grade cards you won’t find anywhere else.
From Spain, the #1 lot of the auction presents one of the finest known 1985 Merchante Campeonato Baloncesta Liga Michael Jordan rookie cards with the seldom seen Blue Back. The card is one of only four graded PSA 8 NM-MT, with only one graded higher.
From Sweden, there is one of the hobby’s finest known 1958 Rekord Magazine Garrincha and Pele rookie cards as well as a 1965 Swedish Candy Cassius Clay card graded PSA 8 NM-MT. Clay’s second-most iconic and sought-after card behind his 1960 Hemmets rookie card, only two other copies have ever graded as high, with just one higher.
From Germany, collectors of the legendary Jesse Owens will discover dozens of single graded cards produced for the 1936 Olympics, with rare issues by Pet Cremer, Sidol-Werke, Muhlen, and Reemstma.
Also from Germany, soccer and hardwood aficionados will be pleased to find an extraordinarily high-grade offering from the colorful 1958-59 Heinerle set, including the hobby’s highest-graded example of Meadowlark Lemon. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003, this legendary Globetrotter’s rookie card may be the least known and most underappreciated basketball HOF rookie card in the hobby.
Highlights from the auction’s many USA-made issues include the following:
- 1931 W517 Babe Ruth Portrait PSA 8 NM-MT Pop 3 Only 1 Higher
- 1950-70 Rawlings Advisory Photos Mickey Mantle PSA 5 EX
- 1958-61 Jay Publishing Ernie Banks Portrait PSA 10 Gem Mint Pop 1
