This auction, which will close on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, features important sports cards from the late 1800s to the mid 1980’s, with a tremendous range of low, middle and high grade cards that will be sure to excite any sportscard collector. Of particular note are one of the finest accumulations of very early 20th century W600 Sporting Life cabinet cards ever offered, including one of only a handful of cards extant to picture legendary New York Giant pitcher Christy Mathewson wearing Street Clothes, as well as fellow Hall of Famers Hughie Jennings, “Iron Man” Joe McGinnity, Joe Kelley, Bobby Wallace, Jimmy Collins, Jake Beckley and Fred Clarke. Another sectional highlight would be an incredible collection of cards from the beloved and highly collected 1952 Topps baseball set, including over 30 different cards from the mythical and incredibly desirable run of High Numbers. These cards will greatly enhance any collection of cards from this amazing and most popular of all of Topps card sets! Other important clusters include cards from 1887 N28 Allen & Ginter, 1908 E102 Anonymous, 1909-11 T206 White Border, 1910 E93 Standard Caramel, 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders, 1915 Cracker Jack, 1932 U.S. Caramel, 1954 Topps and many other post war Topps card sets.
