T205 Cy Young Tops Six Figures In Auction

The value of some old baseball cards isn’t showing signs of stress despite the tough economy. A T206 Cy Young, graded PSA 8.5, topped the bidding in Mile High Card Company’s Fall Internet auction. The card generated 22 bids and sold for $105, 242 which includes the buyer’s premium. PSA’s recently-implemented half-point grading scale change clearly had an impact on the selling price of the card. Early Babe Ruth baseball cards usually draw a crowd of interested bidders and they flocked to a 1916 M101-5 Sporting News Ruth card graded PSA 7. it sold for $89,104.
