100 years ago, they were popping out of cigarette packs. Now, some minty, encapsulated and tobacco-free T206 baseball cards are going on display at the National. PSA and PSA/DNA will have a multi-million dollar exhibit of T206 Hall of Famers on display during the 30th National Sports Collectors Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, July 29 – August 2. “This year is the 100th anniversary of the 1909 introduction of the famous T206 tobacco cards. We’ll be displaying dozens of the Hall of Fame players from this classic set. It is the finest known collection of its kind and will soon be listed in the PSA Set Registry,” said Joe Orlando, President of PSA and PSA/DNA, divisions of Collectors Universe, Inc. “This will be one of the finest and most diverse displays we’ve ever been privileged to showcase at a ‘National’ convention.” Read full story on Sports Collectors Daily.
