What Happens To All Those No. 42 Jerseys?

Now that the calendar has turned past April 15, the question arises: What happens to all those No. 42 jerseys worn this week in honor of Jackie Robinson Day?  Close to 1,000 of them were worn, if you include all the players and coaches on the 30 major league teams (minus Mariano Rivera, who is the last player to still wear 42 regularly).
